THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Project Engineer / Technologist / Technician I to join our diverse team of professionals in our office on a full-time basis. Our preferred candidate possesses proficiency in generating detailed design drawings, calculations and analysis and will provide excellent design services to support engineering requirements for our various projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Collaborate with project team in the planning, design and managing of project requirements including defining accurate project scope, objectives, cost estimates, etc. to align with client requirements and execute high quality projects on time and on budget.
• Participate in studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design, specifications, contract documents, tendering and contract administration.
• Prepare drawings and various engineering documentation including memos, proposals, reports, with speed and accuracy while ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards and project constraints.
• Liaise with and manage effective relationships with clients, colleagues, consultants, regulatory agencies, utility companies, and contractors.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

• A degree, diploma, or certificate in civil engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Designation either as an EIT, AScT, CTech, or P.Eng. in good standing, an asset
• Knowledge of the design and management of land development and municipal infrastructure projects in the Lower Mainland.
• Knowledge of local design and construction standards, municipal requirements for permits.
• Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, project implementation principles, project billings.
• Proven capabilities in writing reports, emails, and other technical documents.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills are critical, along with exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines and exceptional organization skills required for our rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to think quickly and promptly solve conflicts if they arise during construction.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
• Ability to travel to and inspect project and construction sites.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D, an asset.

We are looking for a CAD/CIVIL 3D Technician to join our diverse team of professionals in our office on a full-time basis. Our preferred candidate possesses proficiency in generating detailed design drawings using CAD and CIVIL 3D for our various projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Prepare engineering base plans from survey information, GIS information and record drawings
• Incorporate reference plans from various consultants (Architectural, Landscape Architect, Mechanical, etc.)
• Prepare detailed design drawings including Cover Sheets, Key Plans, Roadworks, Storm Sewers, Sanitary Sewers, Watermains, Cross Sections, ESC plans, Streetlighting, Pavement Markings and Signage plans, etc.
• Prepare detailed design drawings with speed and accuracy while ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, project constraints in accordance with Municipal, Client and HY design/drafting standards
• Utilize Civil 3D labels, label styles and tools to effectively prepare detailed design drawings
• Utilize the use of Sheet Manager to maintain sheet set information within a drawing package
• Complete redline revisions
• Liaise with Managers and Design staff to discuss project preparation, timelines, workflow, challenges, etc.
• Liaise with and manage effective relationships with clients, colleagues, consultants, regulatory agencies, utility companies, and contractors
• Other duties as required and assigned

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

• A CAD Certificate from a certified technical institution
• One year of experience in civil drafting
• Proficient with AutoCad and proficiency with Civil 3D is highly preferred
• Ability to consistently produce high quality work
• Ability to accurately interpret engineering redlines and take direction
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively and manage time
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our diverse team of professionals in our office on a full-time basis. Our preferred candidate possesses experience as a key contributor in planning, designing, and managing projects from inception to execution. The role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project success.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Plan and manage engineering projects including project scope, objectives, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, contracts, etc. while maintaining effective client relationships
• Participate in and contribute to studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design, specifications, contract documents, tendering and contract administration
• Provide technical insight and oversight in various construction engineering activities such as in roadworks, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, street lighting, ESC, site grading, and stormwater management
• Perform or oversee field reviews in accordance with the standards of quality management procedure and competence
• Prepare various project documentation including memos, proposals, reports with speed and accuracy while ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards and project constraints
• Utilize negotiation strategies and client advocacy skills such as in fees, deadlines, contracts, etc. with both internal and external stakeholders in all levels to optimize excellent project outcomes
• Liaise with and manage expectations of clients, colleagues, consultants, regulatory agencies, utility companies and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients, municipal staff and contractors as needed for project purposes
• Prepare monthly invoicing, fee requests and other project-related reports that are consistent with project budgets and requirements.
• Promote collaboration and teamwork and provides mentorship and training to more junior staff

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

• A degree or civil engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Designation as a P.Eng. in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of local experience in land development or capital works projects
• Experience in the design and management of municipal infrastructure and land development projects in the Lower Mainland
• Strong working knowledge of construction standards, requirements for permits, local municipal approval processes
• Ability to operate within internal budgets for at least 80% of all projects
• Ability to work under pressure and handle competing deadlines while effectively managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders
• Ability to think quickly and promptly solve conflicts if they arise during construction
• Analytical and detail-oriented skills are critical, along with exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent skills in presentation, negotiation, collaboration, and communication–both oral and written and ability to represent the company
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to and inspect project and construction sites
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D, an asset
