6 Storey Apartment Building – Langley

The civil works included a new road arterial road, a new local road, and a new lane as well as road upgrades along existing 84th Avenue. A new DCC funded sanitary trunk sewer was installed along the project frontage and downstream to the Carvolth bus exchange to provide a much-needed bypass for the Township of Langley’s sewer system in this neighborhood. Complex cost sharing agreements and latecomer applications were used to clarify funding responsibilities for shared frontages and shared downstream upgrades as well as negotiations for road right-of-ways.

Other civil works included new watermains, perimeter grading, street lighting, storm sewers, and erosion & sediment control.

Georgetown Phase 1 in Surrey, BC

Georgetown is a multi-phased and multi-year mixed-use development in the City Centre area within the City of Surrey.  Anthem Properties is nearing completion of Phase 1, which is comprised of the first, 30-storey residential tower with mixed use commercial podium.  There are nearly ten subsequent phases planned and H.Y Engineering is currently working on the detailed design for Phases 2, 3, and 4 across the street.

250+ Single Family Lot Subdivision in Yorkson South, Langley

H.Y. Engineering was retained as prime consultant to survey, design, manage, tender, and inspect this extensive 293 single-family lot subdivision in the Yorkson neighbourhood of Langley, BC. The on-site design requirements include the full layout and design of multiple roadways, lanes, and cul-de-sacs with curbs, bulges, gutters, sidewalks, cross sections, street lighting, and temporary roads as required. The design of a storm water management system involved using storm water modeling, flow calculations, the design aquatic habitat features, coordination for the design of rain gardens, and the assessment and coordination of existing detention ponds for expansion as required. Water connections from 80th Avenue were designed with calculations to ensure adequate flows. Storm sewer and sanitary sewer plans illustrated the extension of the trunk mains from the intersection of 81A Avenue and 212th Street to the intersection of 80th Avenue and 212th street.

The project further involved significant coordination with the Township of Langley for input and approvals on designs as well as for the preparation of latecomer agreements. Erosion and Sediment Control design was prepared and monitored by H.Y. Engineering as well as construction inspection with reports to the Township of Langley.

 

The Grove: 144 unit Townhouse Project in Surrey

This is a large multi-family townhouse development consisting of 144 units.  The development has utilized many sustainability features on-stie to benefit the residents of this development.  Some of these sustainability features include in-ground infiltration, enhanced topsoil, and water quality devices.  Also, the development features a large amenity building for the local residents of this development.  The on-site works total value is approximately $1.3 million.  The off-site components of this development included the design and construction of a 12 inch watermain for approximate 150 meters in front of the development with an approximate cost of $260,000.

H.Y. Engineering Ltd. designed both the on and off-site works for the multi-phased development making this a beautiful development in the City of Surrey. H.Y Survey has also worked on this development from the raw land state including preparing the topographic and tree survey, subdivision plans ,consolidation plans, strata plans, and as-constructed surveys.   H.Y. Engineering  continues to work on this project through weekly Erosion and Sediment Control monitoring of the works until the completion of the development.
