LA VIA Port Coquitlam

LA VIA Port Coquitlam is a 34 unit condominium development with underground parking that was completed by Circadian Developments Ltd. in March, 2014. H.Y. Engineering Ltd. provided off-site design services and revised to those designs to incorporate the acquisition of an additional lot to the development. H.Y. Engineering also provided Project Management, Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Design and Inspection, as well as Construction Inspection Services.

H.Y. Engineering Ltd. was involved with this project from initiation to completion including planning services to coordinate the rezoning and subdivision of the property with the City, and preliminary design of the subdivision layout and servicing concepts and alternatives. On-site and off-site design services included lot grading design, stormwater control plans, site servicing, roadworks with bus bay, and complex retaining walls. Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) design, ESC monitoring, and construction inspection services were also provided for this project.

Cedar Creek Townhomes

This large multi-phased development, situated on Burke Mountain in Coquitlam, presented unique grading and stormwater retention and infiltration challenges due to the steep slope of the mountain. H.Y. Engineering coordinated with the City of Coquitlam Planning and Development Services Departments to obtain a Development Permit for the project, which included the preparation of the site servicing concept. H.Y. Engineering also provided engineering services for detailed design of the servicing and roadworks required for this project, as well as Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) design and monitoring.

Queens Park West

Located in central New Westminster, Queens Park West is a four-story office building with a roof-top patio and underground parkade. The Uptown Property Group retained H.Y. Engineering Ltd. to provide off-site civil design services, Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) design and monitoring, and construction administration services and inspections. The project required the construction of new road upgrades along Sixth Avenue and Fifth Street, including new street lights and street tree root zones, parkade access, and the complete re-construction of the lane at the rear of the building. Our designs also provided for typical storm, sanitary, and water main connections, coordination with utility companies and with the City of New Westminster.

ARIEL (Advanced Rare Isotope Laboratory) at UBC

The Stores Building was the first phase of the Advanced Rare Isotope Laboratory (ARIEL) project on the TRIUMF campus at Wesbrook Mall, UBC. The ARIEL project was constructed within an existing site and infrastructure system. H.Y. Engineering Ltd. prepared the designs for the on-site service connections and the relocation of existing storm, sanitary, and water mains. Further, H.Y. Engineering Ltd. provided a site grading plan with drainage details, on-site road works, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks, and also designed the Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) system for surface areas affected during construction.

H.Y. Engineering Ltd. worked with Chernoff Thompson Architects for the successful completion of the Stores building in 2012.
